In 2012, together with Xiamen C&D Inc. (C&D), Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group Corporation (FSIGC) and the 3 shipyards under its umbrella sponsored the establishment of Fujian Shipbuilding Trading Co. Ltd. (FSTC), and intended it for the global marketing of the newbuilding products by the 3 shipyards.
The 3 shipbuilding facilities are: Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Ltd (Mawei Shipyard), Fujian Southeast Shipyard (Southeast Shipyard) and Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co. Ltd. (Xiamen Shipbuilding).
Mawei Shipyard and Southeast Shipyard are the top Chinese builders for various offshore support vessels construction and are favored by such global OSV big boys as Tidewater, Vroon, Topaz Marine, Coastal and Swiber for their newbuilding program in China, and have over the years delivered more than 2 hundred units of various offshore support vessels; The 2 shipyards together hold abt. 1/3 of the total current OSV orderbooks in China.
And different from the above 2 shipyards, Xiamen Shipbuilding is indeed the best Chinese builder for car carrier construction, and has since 2006 delivered over 20 units of 4900ceu car carrier to Hoegh Autoliners, Rickmers Bertram and Zodiac Maritime, the yard is now building a series of 8500ceu car carrier for Hoegh Autolines.
C&D has since late 1990s been active in the shipbuilding field, and has over the years developed an integrated solution for shipbuilding in Chinese shipyards, which we believe would be a “selling point” for our shipbuilding products.
As of now, C&D successfully concluded some post-delivery mid- to long-term financing for foreign owner’s newbuilding projects in China via financial lease. More about the financial lease scheme can be found on the site of C&D Shipbuilding.
